The expert committee prepares standards covering gas appliances with combined heat and power. The focus is on small gas-fired systems supplying power and useful heat by using a fuel cell, combustion engine or Stirling engine. Besides hydrocarbons such as natural gas, hydrogen can also be used as the fuel gas.

Tasks/topics of the expert committee:

  • Preparation of standards for the safety of gas-fired cogeneration systems for power and heat
  • Adaptation of such standards to the provisions of the directive on appliances burning gaseous fuels
  • Specification of structural design and safety features
  • Definition of test parameters
