The flood in the Ahr valley showed how close the climate catastrophe already is. Storage technologies, component smartification and rapid, stable further development of the networks are important alongside well-practiced crisis management in order to be well prepared for future events. This also results in new fields of activity and career opportunities for young people. Creative minds who help decarbonize the energy system, not only in Germany, are now in particularly high demand.
